There couldn't have been a better occasion for him to announce himself. On New Year's morning in 2014, a 23-year-old playing only his seventh ODI for New Zealand, smashed his way into record books by scoring the then-fastest century off just 36 balls. 

He was quickly snapped up and inducted into the Mumbai Indians family, and in the very first season, played one of the most iconic knocks in the Blue and Gold - 95* off 44 balls against the Rajasthan Royals in a game where MI successfully chased down 190 in 14.3 overs. 

Turning out for the USA now, he's one of the senior pros in the side, the one who's been there, done that.
