WAFvMINY preview: Make it two in two in less than 24 hours?
By MI New York Media
A winning start, check. Boys in form, check. A massive NRR boost, check. Let’s double it up, shall we?
After a comprehensive win over Seattle Orcas to kickstart our MLC 2024 campaign, MI New York have the opportunity to put the foot on the gas some more as they now shape up to take on Washington Freedom in less than 24 hours. We might still be celebrating Trent Boult’s top spell, or Rashid Khan’s spin clinic, or Nicholas Pooran’s quickfire fifty, but one sleep, and the juggernaut rolls on.
With Steve Smith as Washington’s captain, Travis Head as their opener, and the likes of Lockie Ferguson and Saurabh Netravalkar with the ball, they are a formidable outfit, and would be keen on getting a winning start themselves. But we are prepared, we are in the zone, and we have the momentum. It’s time to get on a roll..
What: Washington Freedom vs MI New York
When: July 6, 3:00pm local | July 7, 12:30am IST
Where: Church Street Park, Morrisville
What to expect: A battle for runs on a slightly tough batting pitch. And a solid battle of skills, with plenty of it set to be on display. Travis Head vs Trent Boult, ah, it’s going to be delicious.
