SORvMINY report: No way! No way!! The toughest kind of heartbreak :(
By MI New York Media
Tell us this isn’t true. Of all kinds of losses to deal with, this one hurts the worst. “It’s a tough one,” conceded Nicholas Pooran at the presentation ceremony.
One ball left, six runs to defend
Kieron Pollard had bowled an absolute gun of an over thus far. The Seattle Orcas needed nine runs to win off the last over, and he’d given away just three runs in the first five balls, disguising his slower ones perfectly. Alas, Shimron Hetmyer, who batted brilliantly, picked out the last delivery, swung, and took the Orcas to their first win of the season. Leaving us with a massive heartbreak.
Okay, MINY Fam, result aside, there were so many positives for us to take out of this.
He’s arrived, Pooran style
Talk about silencing your critics! 60 balls, seven fours, eight sixes, 108 runs, and skipper Nicholas Pooran announced himself, brushing aside all talk of not being in form. Oh, it was hitting of the highest order..
Power-packed Dhillion!
Three consecutive sixes in two consecutive overs. He got a promotion up to number five in the order, joined Pooran in the sixth over, took his time to get his eye in, was on nine off the first nine balls, 14 then off 12. Then came the explosion, three sixes off Cam Gannon, three off Sikandar Raza, and he raced to his fifth off just 22 balls, eventually finishing with 95 off 35 and lifting MINY to a whopping 237.
We really thought we had this in the kitty. Sadly, we won’t have points to take out of this. But we are still fourth on the points table. We continue to B.E.L.I.E.V.E.
